Nike’s online sales, after a brief dip, have risen 31 per cent since announcing the controversial choice of Colin Kaepernick as the face of the company’s 30th anniversary “Just Do It” campaign,  according to a digital commerce research company Edison Trends claims it determined Nike’s sales increased 31 per cent after analyzing data from three million anonymous digital e-receipts in the U.S. On Monday, Nike announced that Colin Kaepernick would be the face of their 30th anniversary “Just Do It” campaign, unveiling an ad featuring Kaepernick’s face that read, “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.” Kaepernick, formerly the quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, was a controversial choice due to his notoriety for kneeling during the national anthem at NFL games. Nike’s shares fell 3.9 per cent on Tuesday after the announcement.

Tennis Champion, Serena Williams had an outburst with umpire Carlos Ramos which overshadowed her US Open final and saw her lost to Japan's  Naomi Osaka. He duly docked her a game after the third code violation, leaving her at 3-5, from which she could not recover. Gabonese and Southampton midfielder, Mario Lemina, who this week received a 'UK record speeding fine' of £96,000 has now had it reduced to just £2,000 after the court made a blunder. On Monday, the 25-year-old midfielder was handed 18 points on top of the 21 he already had after his rare £50,000 Mercedes was caught breaking the speed limit three times. He claimed that he did not know whether it was his brother or cousin were behind the wheel of his £50,000 Mercedes-AMG GLA45. But he admitted three counts of failing to notify police after ignoring their letters. Lemina was hit with the £96,000 fine and banned from driving for a year.
