The Nigerian Army has killed some Boko Haram terrorists, who ambushed troops along the Maiduguri-Bama axis of Borno State at about 11am on Sunday.

  The trial of alleged kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike popularly known as Evans, took a new twist today Tuesday September 12th after the suspect denied ever making any statement to the police, confessing to be a serial kidnapper. At the resumed hearing of his trial at the Ikeja High Court, Evans through his counsel, Chino Obiagu, made the denial following an attempt by the State Prosecuting Counsel, Adebayo Haroun, to tender documents containing the statement of the 1st defendant (Evans) as exhibits before Justice Hakeem Oshodi. Evans, through Obiagu, said the purported statement was not written by him neither was it voluntarily made as claimed by the police. Abuja earth tremors: Why Nigeria should worry – NIBRRI DG

Prof. Danladi Matawal, Director-General, Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NIBRRI) has warned the nation not to take any tremors for granted. Matawal, in a statement he signed on Monday, in Abuja said that there was need to search immediately where the recent tremors in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) were coming from. He further advised the nation to design a set of actions to mitigate the tremors’ effect if it was man-made or artificial, whether from deep explosives or mining. “Are we constructing a tunnel in Abuja? Earlier today, there was an explosion at the Natson Filling Station, located opposite Police Clinic, Jos road, Lafia, in Nasarawa State. A number of persons were killed in the unfortunate incident. More graphic photos below. At least two people have been killed and 30 injured at an explosion at a gas station in Lafia Nasarawa this morning. '7-years after, NDLEA has not paid me a dime from my N25m compensation' - Actor, Baba Suwe

Veteran Yoruba  actor, Babatunde Omidina , popularly known as Baba Suwe , has revealed that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has not paid him the N25 million, which the Lagos High Court had ordered to be paid as compensation. Baba Suwe in an interview with Punch, disclosed that since the death of his lawyer.  Bamidele Aturu , the case has “practically been forgotten". In 2011, the actor was arrested by NDLEA at Murtala Mohammed International Airport over the suspicion that he was trafficking drugs.Upon his arrest, he was in the custody of the NDLEA for three weeks, and after several searches, no drugs weres found.
