Now, the principal of the Kindergarten school, Lai Rong, has been fired because of it.
Principal Rong admitted the decision to include pole dancing for more than 100 parents and nearly 500 kids between the ages of 3-6 was "not well thought out.”
According to the State Times, some of the boys who were watching the performance were noticed mimicking the moves of the pole dancer. ???
The local education bureau stated, “The district education bureau believes performing pole dancing for kindergarten children is not appropriate," and has asked the school to apologize to students and parents. Rong was immediately fired after the video made it rounds to education authorities.
Rong has since issued an apology letter, admitting that it was wrong to have allowed the dance content without carefully examining it. "A few parents did come to me requesting a refund and threatening to pull their children out of the school. While others said it was just to learn a new type of dance," the former principal said.
After her termination, Lai Rong told The Times, “I may as well be dead. I already lost the hope to live”.
