81st Birthday: My real laments in life — Obasanjo

Previous President Olusegun Obasanjo has unveiled that one of his significant second thoughts he had in life was the early downfall of his folks, who he said did not live to harvest the their rewards for so much hard work.

Obasanjo, who timed 81 yesterday, said he wished his folks were alive to witness his development and achievement throughout everyday life and to welcome the forfeit they made while raising him. The previous President said this at his 81 birthday festivity held at Marque Events Center of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta . He, notwithstanding, communicated confidence that his late guardians would at present be cheerful in their graves till date. His words: "One thing I generally miss and recollect is that my folks left this world too soon. The forfeit they made, they didn't hold up to see the outcomes. How I wish they have held up to see and eat their rewards for all the hard work. "Be that as it may, passing by what Yoruba accept and say that, the dead dependably watch over their dearest ones and see happenings around them, I am persuaded that, my folks are glad in their graves, as they watch over me. "For me, this day, I have only to keep on thanking God, welcome Him, adulate Him and love Him and worship Him for all that he has improved the situation me by and by, for individuals from my family, for my more distant family, companions, peers and for the individuals who have worked with me."
