Winter Olympics : Go for gold, Buhari tells Team Nigeria

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday extended his best wishes to Team Nigeria as it begins its historic appearance at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday extended his best wishes to Team Nigeria as it begins its historic appearance at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.
Buhari, in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant, Garba Shehu, commended the women’s bobsleigh team made up of Seun Adigun, Ngozi Onwumere and Akuoma Omeoga for making history by being the first African bobsleigh team to participate in the Winter Olympics in that category.
The President also saluted Nigerian Olympian, Simidele Adeagbo who had raised the bar as the first African female to compete in Skeleton at the Games, assuring the athletes that “Nigeria stands with them throughout the competition.”
“Your patriotism, sacrifice, hard work and personal dedication in choosing to stand with our homeland and lift our flag high at the PyeongChang Olympic Stadium in South Korea, will continue to inspire Nigerians, especially the young people,’’ he said

Barring any last minute change, President Buhari will today at about 11:30 a.m, receive his presidential nomination form. A group under the auspices of National Consolidation Ambassadors Network (NCAN) had, last week, dole out N45 million to purchase the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination form for Buhari’s re-election bid in 2019.
