Nigerian Army Begins Operation ‘Cat Race’ In States

The Nigerian army has on Wednesday, announced that it will begin exercise Ayam Akpatuma covering six states (Benue, Taraba, Kogi, Nasarawa, Kaduna and Niger) in order to tackle the cases of kidnappings, herdsmen/farmers’ clashes among others.
The chief of training and operation, Maj. Gen David Ahmadu, made the announcement in Abuja on behalf of the chief of army staff, Lt Gen Tukur Buratai.
He disclosed the exercise would run from February 15 to march 31, 2018.
Cat Race(Ayem Akpatuma) involves raids, cordon and search operations, road blocks, show of force and checkpoints.

Barring any last minute change, President Buhari will today at about 11:30 a.m, receive his presidential nomination form. A group under the auspices of National Consolidation Ambassadors Network (NCAN) had, last week, dole out N45 million to purchase the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination form for Buhari’s re-election bid in 2019.
