Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage has been named by the BBC as one of the 100 most inspirational and innovative women of 2017.
According to BBC, Tiwa Savage is an intergral member of the Afrobeats scene and plans to open a music school. Also on the list is Talent Jumo, a Zimbabwean activist who supports victims of revenge porn, giving them counselling and legal advice.
British-Nigerian business brain Anne-Marie Imafidon also
makes the list for her role in supporting women to go into careers in
science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
Nigeria’s women basketball team D’Tigress defeated Turkey in their second group game to claim first-ever win at the 2018 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup on Sunday night. D'Tigress defeated their opponent 74-68 after shooting 34 percent from the floor, a marginal increase from the 29 percent they recorded against Australia in their first game.
Barring any last minute change, President Buhari will today at about 11:30 a.m, receive his presidential nomination form. A group under the auspices of National Consolidation Ambassadors Network (NCAN) had, last week, dole out N45 million to purchase the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination form for Buhari’s re-election bid in 2019.
