ARSENAL are closing in on the club-record signing of Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon and Express Sport brings you the latest news and developments.
07:15: But while they prepare to announce the signing of their new striker Arsenal face a losing battle in they bid to keep Alexis Sanchez.
Manchester City have grown confident of signing the forward in recent weeks.
And he’s now finished up in Russia at the Confederations Cup meaning things can get moving.
He said last week that it was clear what was going to happen and refused to rule out leaving Arsenal.
Sanchez has a year left on his contract but has refused to sign a new one.
07:00: Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Alexandre Lacazette. The striker has undergone a medical and could be announced as an Arsenal player today.
The striker has agreed a five-year deal and will become the club's record signing in a move worth £52m after add-ons.
Lacazette flew into London after Arsenal agreed a deal with Lyon and will become the club's second signing.
The France star was at Arsenal's training ground yesterday to go through his medical and complete the formalities.

19:38: At least one Arsenal fan is delighted Alexandre Lacazette's likely capture has distracted him from a torrid day.
Gunner James Ward, who was today dumped out of Wimbledon in straight sets to Marcos Baghdatis, admits the imminent arrival of Lacazette has put a shine on his day.
"I went to every game last season, which was nice,” Ward said after his match.
"That was the only plus, I think, of not being able to play.
"I think we signed Lacazette today, which is a touch.
"We will see if we get Riyad Mahrez next, then I might try and get over there as much as possible.
"But yes, we'll see what happens. Arsenal is another subject we will leave for another time."
17:29: LACAZETTE MEDICAL UPDATE
Alexandre Lacazette has COMPLETED his medical at Arsenal.
Lacazette is expected to agree a deal to join the Gunners.
He will sign a contract at the Emirates club to become their record signing.
Lyon could earn as much as £52million for their star striker.
Sanchez’s contract expires next summer and there are claims Lacazette is being brought in to replace the 28-year-old.
But Chilean newspaper La Tercera say Sanchez has decided to remain at the Emirates for next term.
Sanchez staying and playing alongside Lacazette would be a major coup for manager Arsene Wenger.
The boss faces the challenge of hauling Arsenal back into the battle for the Premier League title next season, while also competing on Thursday nights in the Europa League.
15:15: David Ornstein claims Arsenal’s signing of Alexandre Lacazette is unlikely to be announced today.
The striker is at the training ground undergoing a medical.
And the transfer is set to be rubber stamped shortly.
But BBC reporter Ornstein claims the announcement is unlikely to be today.
Arsenal have been linked with Kylian Mbappe and Thomas Lemar this summer.
They have already signed left-back Sead Kolasinac and with Lacazette close to a deal they are overhauling the side that came fifth last year.
But Wenger is likely to make more moves this summer.

14:15: So what now for Arsenal's other strikers as Alexandre Lacazette closes in on his move to Arsenal?
Olivier Giroud has attracted interest from Everton and West Ham as well as clubs in France.
But he seems keen to stay put if given the option by Arsene Wenger.
Giroud was on the bench for most of last season with Wenger using Alexis Sanchez up top - athough the Chile star's future is also uncertain.
Lucas Perez seems ready to quit north London and return to Spain.
And Danny Welbeck is in pre-season training today after struggling most of last season with injury and is likely to stay put.
If Perez does get his move Wenger may decide to keep both Welbeck and Giroud, but a lot will depend on Sanchez's future.
"The deal will happen for something between €45 and €50 million. To be close to €50m is something unique, and will be a record for Arsenal and a record for Lyon," Aulas said.
"One must also take into account that traditionally, a club like Arsenal do not have the habit of spending so much for one player."
Everton have been the most active team so far this summer and added two more names yesterday.
Michael Keane and Sandro Ramirez joined Ronald Koeman’s revolution as he sets about overhauling his squad.
But he also looked into a deal for Lacazette, according to the Daily Mail, as he plans for life after Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku looks set to join Chelsea, but they have missed out on Lacazette with the striker poised to join Arsenal.
7:30: French football expert Julien Laurens has offered some insight into Arsene Wenger’s pursuit of Lacazette.
Laurens claims Wenger has been watching the striker for 10 years and is finally convinced that the time is right to bring him to the Emirates.
He told BBC Radio Five Live: "I think it is a good signing for many reasons, not just for spending the money.
"For 10 years, they have looked at him so many times.
"But this summer finally Wenger is convinced this is the right time for him to come to Arsenal and that finally he's matured enough and improved enough.
"His game all round has improved massively.
